The Communication Leadership graduate program is a connected learning community,
fearlessly tackling challenges through creative stories that spark change.
We offer two degrees on the art and science of successful communication strategies – Master of Communication in Digital Media (MCDM) and Master of Communication in Communities and Networks (MCCN).
The MCDM and MCCN degrees have a common focus on superb storytelling practices that engage both online and offline audiences to effect change. Our two required core classes intentionally combine the degrees and address how personal narrative informs leadership styles and influences organizational storytelling, resulting in both individual and organizational transformation. Each student takes 35 additional elective credits to complete their degree and up to 10 of these elective credits can be taken in the complementary degree. Both the MCDM and MCCN offer a highly versatile learning environment that presents students with real-world challenges, supported by a dedicated faculty and an influential network of partners. All students have opportunities to apply their learning with these community partners in the form of class clients, internships, and fellowships.

The MCDM is a professional degree focused on communication strategy that emphasizes content creation skills, emergent technologies, and platforms. Students learn to craft intelligent engagement strategies using media production, distribution of content, and analytics.
Master of Communication in Communities and Networks (MCCN)
The MCCN is a professional degree focused on communication strategy that emphasizes building community, growing networks, and crafting organizational identity. Students learn to build collaborative skills necessary to manage change, recognize and navigate interpersonal dynamics, and design effective strategies for engaging diverse publics.
